Colorado Democrats, labor unions revive push to ease unionization rules

Their proposal would repeal Colorado’s unique requirement that labor unions hold a second election before they can fully negotiate with businesses. Gov. Polis vetoed it last year.

Thousands of Kaiser Permanente healthcare workers in Colorado have walked off the job for three days. They say they are stretched thin amid a serious employee shortage and want better pay. Also on today's episode — what sprouted from a group of volunteer musicians a century ago has blossomed into a Northern Colorado institution.

Sarah Fotis, assistant bakery manager at the King Soopers in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood, on the first day of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local Seven strike. Fotis said she was picketing for people like her cake decorator co-worker Regina, who has been with King Soopers for more than 30 years but low wages combined with family tragedy and illness have prevented her from retiring. "I'm out here fighting for people like that," Fotis said.
