Hickenlooper Presents 2012 Budget Proposal

Lawmakers peppered Governor John Hickenlooper with economic development questions on Thursday when he presented his budget for next year. The legislature’s bi-partisan joint budget committee is charged with crafting a budget. Similar to recent years, the budget will require significant cuts to government programs. The Governor has also set aside 6 million dollars for economic incentives. KUNC’s state capitol reporter Bente Birkeland has more.

Protesters Mark Two Month Anniversary in Denver

Thousands of people are rallying in cities across the US to mark the two month anniversary of the Occupy Wall Street movement.  In Denver Thursday, protesters marched to city hall and along the city’s busy 16th Street Mall where there have been numerous clashes with police in recent weeks.

USPS Calls “Time Out” on Proposed Post Office Closures

An announcement from the USPS in the New Raymer post office over the summer. The town was one of thousands the USPS was considering for closure.

The United State Post Office is putting its plan to close thousands of rural post offices on hold for now. The office had announced the proposed closures over the summer.
