We're happy to announce that Radiolab will be coming to KUNC on May 4th. What is Radiolab?

... it's a show about curiosity. Where sound illuminates ideas, and the boundaries blur between science, philosophy, and human experience.

... it weaves stories and science into sound and music-rich documentaries.

... it believes your ears are a portal to another world.

And so much more. Radiolab is unlike anything else on the dial, and on May 4th at 7pm, KUNC will be bringing this experience to you. And experience is the right word. Radiolab is an enjoyable, but challenging task. As the New York Times puts it:

It seems ill suited to an audience that multitasks, demands to react or contradict in real time, insists on controlling information rather than receiving it. Yet “Radiolab” — which just won a 2010 Peabody Award — has responded to all this by designing a show for sustained and undivided attention. It wrestles with big, serious ideas like stochasticity, time and deception. It ignores the news cycle completely. And it expects you to stop checking your inbox, updating your status or playing Angry Birds and spend a solid hour listening.

Eleanor Roosevelt has been quoted as saying "Great minds discuss ideas...". Ideas, like the latest short where the myth of Robert Johnson at the crossroads is dissected:

Join us, on May 4th at 7pm for the premiere of Radiolab on KUNC. This American Life will follow at 8pm.
