Colorado’s experiment with retail marijuana sales is less than three months old, but public opinion has swayed further in favor of legal pot since Amendment 64 passed. Those views are largely split along party lines.
In places like Denver and Steamboat Springs, the debate over retail marijuana has long been settled. It’s a different story in Fort Collins. A final decision on whether to allow retail marijuana in city limits is expected soon.
Colorado opened its first pot stores in January, and adults in Washington state will be able to walk into a store and buy marijuana this summer. But this legalization of recreational marijuana is taking place without much information on the possible health effects.
