Boulder County expands weather tracking to help prevent wildfires
Ahead of the next wildfire season, Boulder County is expanding its weather monitoring system. It previously had just one weather station, in the Sugarloaf area, to monitor fire conditions across almost 500 square miles. New day center for unhoused people set to open in Boulder
A day services center for those experiencing homelessness is set to open in Boulder as soon as next month. The center will operate out of the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless. It’s been a priority for the Boulder City Council to establish a space where Boulder’s unhoused population can get access to resources during the day. Boulder Valley School District aims for transparency and accountability with new data dashboard
The Boulder Valley School District’s Latino students are nearly three times more likely than white students to be suspended, according to an analysis by the Boulder Reporting Lab. In an effort to address this issue, the district has added a detailed, school-level data dashboard to its website.

Boulder’s historic district proposal sparks reckoning with the city’s displacement of early Black residents
City officials have been researching the history of the civic area, which includes Central Park and city hall, for a potential historic district designation. Relatively little is known about the Black residents who once lived there, but if designated, their history would be officially recognized through plaques and signage for the first time, according to officials.
Boulder housing board considers converting airport into mixed-income neighborhood
Boulder's seven-member housing board recently sent a memo to city council members seeking feedback on a proposal to turn Boulder Municipal Airport into a mixed-income neighborhood with more affordable housing units.
