Electricity has been restored at Buckhorn Mtn. and we're happy to report that KUNC is back on our main transmitter. Buckhorn Mtn. had been without power since the start of the High Park Fire on June 9th.
KUNC has been operating using a temporary low power facility since June 11th after the High Park Fire burned over Buckhorn Mtn. Our equipment, along with the county's emergency communications equipment, was not harmed by the fire, but electrical lines and poles were destroyed.
PVREA has installed new electrical lines and poles and power has been restored. We have pictures of the High Park Fire burn zone and we also have pictures from Buckhorn Mtn. as well taken just a few days after the start of the fire.
