Signs outside Cafe Mexicali in Johnstown announce pick-up only service following Gov. Jared Polis' public order shutting down restaurant dining areas in the state.

Today on Colorado Edition: we bring you an update on the spread of COVID-19 in our state, including a look at the impact of restaurant closures and the rise in gun sales.

Colorado Restaurants Close Dine-In Operations For 30 Days

The spread of the novel coronavirus continues to change daily life in our state. Colorado’s governor ordered all restaurants and bars close their dine-in services for at least 30 days starting Tuesday.

The announcement follows several other states that are taking similar steps to slow the spread of the virus.

KUNC’s Matt Bloom joined us to explain the new order and what it means for restaurants in the state.

Gun Sales And The Coronavirus

As people across the country stock up on supplies to prepare for weeks of social distancing, Americans are crowding into gun stores. Our Guns & America reporter Leigh Patersonjoined us with more.
